Free Printable Thanksgiving Banner to Color (A–Z & More!)
These free printable Thanksgiving banners to color are such a fun way to decorate for November without spending a fortune on decorations! I’ve made a whole collection of Thanksgiving bunting, including a ready-to-color HAPPY THANKSGIVING banner, a complete A–Z alphabet so you can make your own messages, and some extra cute and funny Thanksgiving sayings.

I wanted to make something that kids could actually help create, rather than just another decoration that gets pulled out of a packet and hung on the wall. There’s something really sweet about seeing their colorful little creations hanging up for everyone to enjoy!
Every design is black and white, with big outlined letters, pumpkins, autumn leaves, acorns and other Thanksgiving favorites. Just print your chosen pages, get coloring, cut out the pennants and string them together.
And as always with CraftyCiciJoy, everything is completely free to download and print, with no sign-up needed.
Free Printable Thanksgiving Banners to Color
I’ve divided the collection into three sections so you can choose exactly what you need. You can make a traditional Happy Thanksgiving banner, spell out something completely different using the alphabet letters, or add a few of the fun statement pennants.
The designs have plenty of space for coloring, so children can use their favorite fall shades or go completely wild with the colors. Who says a Thanksgiving pumpkin can’t be pink?
1. Happy Thanksgiving Banner to Color
If you want a classic Thanksgiving decoration, start with this one!
I’ve created individual letter pennants that spell out HAPPY THANKSGIVING, with cute little fall illustrations decorating each flag.

You’ll find pumpkins, autumn leaves, acorns, corn, pie and even a friendly turkey. The letters have a chunky, slightly patchwork look that makes them especially fun to color.
I think this would look adorable hanging above a Thanksgiving dinner table, across a classroom display or even along the kitchen wall.
You could color every letter in matching autumn shades, or let each child decorate a few pennants and see how the finished banner turns out.
2. Printable Thanksgiving Alphabet Letters A–Z
This is probably my favorite addition to the collection because you can use it for so many different things!
I’ve made a complete set of 26 printable Thanksgiving alphabet letters, from A right through to Z. Each letter has the same cozy fall-inspired design, with little details such as plaid patterns, stitched patches, pumpkins, leaves and acorns.
There are two letter pennants per printable page, making it easy to print the letters you need.

Instead of being limited to one message, you can create your own Thanksgiving bunting with phrases such as:
- GIVE THANKS
- THANKFUL
- FAMILY
- GOBBLE GOBBLE
- HARVEST TIME
- WELCOME
You could even spell out your child’s name for a Thanksgiving-themed bedroom decoration or make a personalized classroom display.
And because the letters are all black and white, you can make every banner look completely different depending on how you color it.
3. Cute and Funny Thanksgiving Bunting Sayings
I couldn’t resist making a few extra Thanksgiving pennants to go with the alphabet letters!
These are slightly different from the individual letter banners. Each one has a complete Thanksgiving saying, with big playful lettering and cute illustrations to color.
They’re lovely on their own, but you can also mix them into a longer banner or hang a few together as a little Thanksgiving display.
Give Thanks

This design has oversized lettering with an open book, pumpkin and autumn leaves. It’s a lovely choice for a gratitude-themed or Christian Thanksgiving display.
Cozy, Full & Thankful

This one feels like Thanksgiving in a nutshell! It has a cozy mug, folded blanket and pumpkin, with lots of outlined lettering to color.
Happy Thanksgiving

A cheerful statement pennant with big THANKS lettering, a pumpkin, curling vines, autumn leaves and an acorn.
Pies Before Guys

A silly Thanksgiving saying with enormous bubble letters and a big slice of pie. I can absolutely see this one hanging beside the Thanksgiving dessert table!
Thankful & Grateful

Two separate pennants featuring the words THANKFUL and GRATEFUL, with simple pumpkins and autumn leaves. These are perfect if you want something a little more traditional.
Happy Turkey Day

A playful turkey-themed pennant with big bubble letters and a cute turkey peeking through the wording.
You can color these in traditional orange, yellow, brown and red, or try a completely different color scheme to match your Thanksgiving decorations.
How to Make Your Thanksgiving Banner

Turning these printable Thanksgiving pennants into a proper banner is really easy, and it’s a lovely little craft to do together.
First, let the kids color their chosen designs. Crayons, colored pencils and markers all work well, although I’d put a spare sheet of paper underneath if you’re using markers.
Once everything is colored, carefully cut around the outside of each triangular pennant.
The designs include little circles near the top corners to help you thread your banner together. An adult can make the holes using a hole punch or another suitable craft tool.
Then thread some string, ribbon or yarn through the holes, arrange the pennants in the correct order and hang your finished banner.
If you’re making a longer message, leave a little space between the words so it’s easy to read.
You can also print the designs onto slightly thicker paper if you want a sturdier decoration.
Two More Fun Ways to Use These Thanksgiving Printables
Make a Thanksgiving Coloring Station
If you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner, why not turn the banner into an activity for the kids?
Print a selection of letters and saying pennants, pop them on the table with crayons and let everyone decorate one.
When they’re finished, you can string the flags together and hang them up before dinner. It’s a fun way to get the children involved, and they get to see something they’ve made become part of the decorations.
Create a Family Gratitude Banner
I really love this idea for making Thanksgiving a little more meaningful.
Use the A–Z letters to spell GIVE THANKS or THANKFUL, then let everyone choose a pennant to color.
On the back, each person can write something they’re grateful for this year.
You can hang the finished banner somewhere everyone will see it, and maybe even keep the pennants afterwards as a little Thanksgiving memory.
