12 Free Printable Thanksgiving Placemats to Color

These free printable Thanksgiving placemats to color are such a fun little activity for Thanksgiving dinner — especially when the kids are getting hungry and the turkey is somehow still not ready.

I’ve made 12 cute Thanksgiving placemats that you can print at home and pop straight onto the table with a handful of crayons.

There are happy turkeys, pumpkins, pie, corn, Thanksgiving dinner foods and plenty of big spaces for kids to color. I’ve also included a couple of more interactive pages, including a build-your-own Thanksgiving plate activity where kids can cut out their favorite Thanksgiving foods.

And because I know nobody needs another complicated activity to organise on Thanksgiving morning, these are nice and simple: print, add crayons, done.

Use them as Thanksgiving dinner placemats, a quiet activity while the food is cooking, a kids’ table activity or just a cozy Thanksgiving coloring activity at home.

All 12 Thanksgiving placemats are completely free to print — no sign-up needed.

Free Thanksgiving Placemats for Kids

I wanted this little collection to feel more like coloring pages than super-busy worksheets.

There are lots of big, easy-to-color shapes, chunky lettering and cute Thanksgiving characters, so younger kids can enjoy them too.

You can print one design for everyone around the table or mix them up so each child gets a different Thanksgiving placemat.

Honestly, I’d probably print a little pile and let everyone choose their favorite before dinner.

Gobble ‘Til You Wobble Placemat

Probably one of my favorites because Gobble ‘Til You Wobble feels very appropriate for Thanksgiving.

This coloring placemat has a happy turkey surrounded by pumpkins, corn, an acorn and fall leaves, with big bubbly letters across the top. There are plenty of chunky spaces to color without loads of teeny-tiny details.

So Thankful Turkey Placemat

This sweet little turkey is holding a big heart beneath the words SO THANKFUL.

Around him are pumpkins, apples, acorns, leaves and a happy sunflower, so there’s plenty for kids to color while everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner. I really like this one for a Thanksgiving kids’ table because it still has that little gratitude theme without turning into a worksheet.

Pass the Pumpkin Pie Placemat

Because we all know the pie is one of the most important parts.

This cute Thanksgiving coloring placemat has a giant smiling slice of pumpkin pie holding a fork, surrounded by pumpkins, apples, leaves and a tiny turkey. The big PASS THE PIE! lettering is also completely open for coloring.

Happy Thanksgiving Coloring Placemat

If you want a classic Thanksgiving placemat for the kids’ table, this is the one I’d pick.

It has big HAPPY THANKSGIVING lettering with a turkey, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, corn and pumpkins. There are lots of different pictures to color without the page feeling too complicated.

Full Heart, Full Plate Thanksgiving Placemat

I love the little phrase on this one: FULL HEART, FULL PLATE.

The center has a big Thanksgiving dinner plate piled with turkey, mashed potatoes, corn and pumpkin pie, surrounded by pumpkins and fall leaves.

There’s also a large empty heart that kids can decorate or write something they’re thankful for inside.

Let’s Eat Thanksgiving Food Placemat

This one is all about the food! There’s roast turkey, pumpkin pie, corn, cranberry sauce and gravy surrounding giant LET’S EAT! bubble letters.

I can definitely see this one going down well at the kids’ table while everybody waits for their actual plate of food.

Feast Mode Placemat

FEAST MODE! might be my favorite Thanksgiving phrase in this whole collection. There’s a happy turkey pushing a shopping cart absolutely stuffed with Thanksgiving goodies, including pie, pumpkins and corn.

Kids can color the giant lettering as well as all the little food and fall characters around the page.

Give Thanks Thanksgiving Placemat

This is another simple coloring option with giant GIVE THANKS lettering.

Underneath are a cute pumpkin, apple, acorn and sunflower surrounded by fall leaves. The big open letters make this one especially nice for younger kids who like coloring large spaces.

Thanksgiving Turkey Placemat

There’s a big happy turkey in the middle wearing a pilgrim-style hat, with pumpkins, corn and pumpkin pie around him. It’s another easy one to print for the Thanksgiving table when you just want a fun coloring activity without any instructions.

My Thanksgiving Plate Activity Placemat

This Thanksgiving placemat adds a little drawing and writing activity into the mix.

Kids have a huge plate in the middle, plus separate spaces for:

Turkey • Corn • Rolls • Pie • Potatoes • Something I’m Thankful For

They can draw each Thanksgiving food and then add something they’re thankful for in the final box.

This would be a really cute Thanksgiving classroom activity too.

Build Your Thanksgiving Plate Placemat

This one is part coloring page, part Thanksgiving activity.

Kids get a huge empty plate in the middle where they can create their dream Thanksgiving dinner.

They can draw their own food straight onto the plate, or pair this page with the Thanksgiving food cut-outs further down the collection.

It would be really cute for preschoolers and younger elementary-age kids, especially if they love cutting and gluing activities.

For younger children, I’d have an adult help with the cutting.

How to Use Your Printable Thanksgiving Placemats

These don’t need much preparation at all.

Print your favorite Thanksgiving placemats, put one at each child’s place and add a pot of crayons or colored pencils to the middle of the table.

You could also:

  • print them for a Thanksgiving classroom party
  • use them while kids wait for Thanksgiving dinner
  • add them to a Thanksgiving activity table
  • print extras for cousins and visiting family
  • use the coloring pages during November
  • laminate a favorite design and use washable markers

If you’re using the cut-and-glue Thanksgiving plate activity, you’ll also need child-safe scissors and a glue stick.

For ordinary coloring placemats, regular printer paper is absolutely fine. If you want them to feel a little sturdier on the Thanksgiving table, you can use heavier paper or cardstock.

A Little Thanksgiving Note From Me

I love printables like these because they’re such an easy way to make the kids’ side of Thanksgiving feel a little special without adding another huge job to the day.

Just put out some crayons, let them choose their favorite page and hopefully you’ll get at least five peaceful minutes to finish the potatoes.

I hope these little Thanksgiving placemats make your table feel extra cozy this year.

Happy Thanksgiving and happy coloring!
