Free Printable Thanksgiving Cards to Color

I’ve tried to include a really nice mixture of cards in this collection, because not every Thanksgiving card needs to be serious and sentimental!

Some are sweet and thoughtful, while others are a little bit silly. There are cards for family members, cards for friends, a special teacher card and lots of Thanksgiving favorites like turkeys, pumpkins, fall leaves and pumpkin pie.

Each printable has a large coloring design on the front, with chunky outlined lettering that’s fun to color in. There’s also a little gift illustration on the back, along with a space for your child to write their name.

The cards are designed to be folded in half, so they look like proper little greeting cards once they’re finished. I think they’re especially cute when kids add their own message inside.

A Little Thanksgiving Activity That Means Something

One thing I especially love about printable cards is that the kids aren’t just coloring for the sake of coloring. They’re making something to give away.

You could sit down together and ask them who they’re thankful for this year. It might be Grandma, their teacher, a best friend, or even the neighbor who always stops to say hello.

Then let them choose a card for that person.

They can write a little message inside, draw a picture, or simply sign their name if they’re still too young to write much.

And if you’ve got younger children, don’t worry about making everything look perfect. A few scribbles and a little help writing their name are more than enough to make a lovely keepsake.

Two Sweet Ways to Use Your Thanksgiving Coloring Cards

Make a Thanksgiving Gratitude Basket

This would be such a lovely family activity in the days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Pop a few printed cards into a little basket with some crayons and colored pencils. Throughout the week, encourage the kids to choose someone they’d like to thank and color a card especially for them.

You could even make delivering the cards part of your Thanksgiving tradition.

It’s a simple way to get everyone thinking about gratitude without making it feel like another lesson or worksheet.

Set Up a Thanksgiving Card-Making Table

If you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner, print a selection of cards ahead of time and set them out with crayons, markers and stickers.

The kids can choose their favorites and make little cards for the people sitting around the table.

I love activities like this because they give little hands something to do while dinner is being prepared, and everyone gets a sweet little surprise afterwards.

You could even put the finished cards beside each person’s plate!

Thanksgiving Cards to Color FAQ

A few little things you might be wondering before you get the crayons out and start making your Thanksgiving cards!

How do I print the Thanksgiving cards?

Just choose your favorite card and click the free PDF download link. Print it on A4 or US Letter paper in landscape orientation, using “Fit to Page” if needed. Once printed, let the kids color their designs, then fold along the dotted center line. Add a little handwritten message inside, and your card is ready to give!

Are these Thanksgiving cards really free?

Yes! All 15 Thanksgiving coloring cards are completely free to download and print. There’s no sign-up, email address or payment needed. Just choose the ones you love and enjoy a little Thanksgiving crafting!

Should I print the cards on paper or cardstock?

Both work perfectly! Regular printer paper is absolutely fine, especially if you’re making cards with younger kids or printing several for a classroom. If you want your finished cards to feel a little sturdier, white cardstock is a lovely option.

Are these Thanksgiving cards suitable for toddlers and preschoolers?

Absolutely! I’ve kept the illustrations simple, with big bubble letters, cute characters and plenty of space for little hands to color. Younger children might need some help folding their cards and writing inside, but even a few colorful scribbles make a really sweet homemade Thanksgiving gift!

Can I use these Thanksgiving cards in my classroom?

Of course! You’re welcome to print these cards for personal and classroom use. They’re lovely for a Thanksgiving classroom party, a gratitude activity or making little thank-you cards for teachers, friends and family.

What can kids write inside their Thanksgiving cards?

It doesn’t have to be anything fancy! “I’m thankful for you,” “You make me smile,” “Thanks for being my friend,” or “I’m so happy you’re my teacher” are all lovely little messages. Younger children could draw a picture or simply write their name. Those little personal touches are what make homemade cards so special!

Can I make more than one Thanksgiving card?

Definitely! You can print as many as you need for personal or classroom use. I love the idea of letting kids choose a different design for each person they’re thankful for. With 15 cards to pick from, there’s a nice mixture of sweet, silly and traditional Thanksgiving designs.
